Know Thyself and Design Accordingly
Hello, Friends!
I hope your year-end celebrations were fabulous…and that you’re as excited as I am for 2026! Typically, I would have a Chinese New Year party in Portland, but alas…we will need to raise a glass virtually this year. In case this photo makes you think I'm in Central Oregon, no, I have not moved back, but this was an old favorite photo from Sisters days and enjoyed the reminder.
This year (Fire Horse) is worthy of celebration! It’s all about momentum, one of my favorites as you know ;)
In the spirit of ‘getting ready to launch’, my reminder to you is to focus on grounding yourself. That means getting your house in order- throwing out old things that no longer serve you (on every level) and REST. I’ve noticed that we, as driven people, entrepreneurs and dreamers (and often women), we recoil at the idea of rest.
The new truth for us is that REST IS A REQUIREMENT, NOT A REWARD.
My analogy is car maintenance. If your livelihood was dependent upon a car, you’d ensure that the oil was changed and the tires were in good working order. The car is your body. Your livelihood is dependent upon your health at a high level, and your energy levels at a minimum. Rest is up there with oil changes. Bet you’ve never seen that in a newsletter before. And if you need to feel like you’re being productive (I know I do), remember: doing nothing is a prerequisite to thinking.
You officially have permission to take care of yourself…to rest. To find your joys and prioritize them. To get rid of things you’re carrying that you don’t need to. The other quote I heard recently is 'You don't rise to the level of your goals. You sink to the level of your nervous system (capacity)." I find wine and walks in the woods help (not at the same time), but that's me. Know thyself and design accordingly.
I created a video to bring some Creative Buoyancy hacks to the top of your inbox - check out the video here.

My News
The house is coming along. The animals are positively YOUGE. And life is pretty darned good in spite of living in snowy conditions again.
I have anew website, new Youtube videos (dropping every week) and have created my first digital course! Some bits are still in progress, but am SO excited to share it!
Worth noting that I have switched toFGFunnelsas a platform…everything is housed on this one platform so I can consolidate (think cancelling Calendly and Mailchimp and Squarespace, etc.) So far I’m pretty thrilled with it…mentioning in case you’re looking for a solution.
But I really just wanted to celebrate getting this off my to do list! And wanted to ask you to take a peek when you can.
I’ve moved into doing more leadership coaching and culture work…workshops and 1:1s for teams to optimize interactions (and help people be happier at work ;) All good things, but am hopeful I can reach and help more folks with online content readily available.
If you have folks you think might benefit from it,would you share my url with them, please?
